About this piece

II captured this image just after sunrise along the iconic June Lake Loop in the southern Sierras very near Yosemite National Park on a fall colors trip with my wife, Lynn. This photo reveals a fleeting moment of quiet brilliant light spilling over an immense granite face and ignites the autumn colors below. The curve of the mountain stream, framed by golden aspens and the textures of the eastern Sierra, offers a glimpse into the harmony of light, land, and season.

I release limited edition California fine art prints in small runs of 25. "First Light on the Loop" is available either in Collector's Print (Unframed) on Hannemühle fine art paper, or in Museum Framed Edition on Hannemühle fine art paper, under Acrylic glass and framed with mounting hardware installed. Each will be produced by WhiteWall (Germany), one of the most respected art labs in the world. A Certificate of Authenticity indicating the print number within the edition, and signed by the Artist, will be provided to each collector.
